The Madison County Jail is a medium-security jail. They only house adult inmates. The inmates are both male and female.

The facility is operated and managed by the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. The jail is licensed by the state of Iowa.

The Madison County Jail can currently house around 18 inmates at any given time. The facility currently has three separate housing units where the inmates will sleep.

Every housing units come equipped with a video visit station, telephones, televisions, common kitchen area, day room, gaming tables, and natural lighting. The housing units also have a canteen where they can purchase special items that the jail does not give them such as junk food and various beverages.
