The Stokes County Jail is also known as the Stokes County Correctional Facility. The Stokes County Jail is situated adjacent to the Stokes County Public Safety Building. The facility is also nearly one mile from the Stokes County Courthouse.

The facility was built back in November of 1991. The jail section of the building had to be approved by the State Department of Corrections. It was approved to house nearly 49 long-term inmates, 9 48-hour inmates, and 2 4-hour inmates, which brings the total up to a grand total of 68 inmates at one time.

The Stokes County Jail is NOT certified to house ANY juvenile inmates. The facility can only house adult inmates. They house both male and female inmates. By law, they need to separate the male and female inmate population.

The Stokes County Jail not only works with the Stokes County Sheriff’s Office. They also work with other law enforcement agencies including the County Correction facilities in North Carolina alongside the state prisons.

The Stokes County Jail offers its inmates a wide variety of programs and services. These include but not limited to the following:
