The Martin County Jail & Detention Center is situated in Fairmont, Minnesota. The Martin County Jail & Detention Center is under the operation of the Security Division. The Security Division is composed of three main sections. These sections include the intake and booking process, custody, and inmate property. Within these three sections, they come equipped with 120 deputies and civilian clerks, 3 lieutenants, and 10 sergeants.

The custody portion is responsible for the safety, well-being, and security of all inmates in these following categories:

• Inmates waiting to go to trial, post bail, or waiting to be sentenced
• Inmates who have already been sentenced for their misdemeanors
• Inmates who are known as courtesy holds that came from other counties, towns, states, and some inmates from federal agencies.

The Deputies are the ones who are responsible for managing all day to day operations that goes on in the Martin County Jail & Detention Center. They also will carry out random cell searches and checks. They will also serve food, deliver mail, and enforce all of the detention center rules that are carried out by the State of Minnesota.

All inmates in the Martin County Jail & Detention Center will always have access to showers, three meals a day, bed linens, uniforms, and medical care.
